Before you book anything. A plain account of what each offering involves, what to expect, and how to know which one applies to you.
BACP-registered psychotherapy for gay men. Open-ended clinical work on the specific presenting issues, patterns, and experiences driving your psychological distress. Available across the UK and Europe.
Right for you if:
Six structured sessions of psychological pattern recognition. Not clinical therapy. Designed for gay men who are psychologically stable and want to understand the specific formation shaping their patterns. Available worldwide.
Right for you if:
There is no intake call or preliminary screening process. Book your first session directly through the booking system. You will receive confirmation and a video link immediately. The first session begins the actual work.
You will be sent a short intake form asking about your presenting concerns, relevant history, and what you’re hoping to work on. This isn’t a lengthy questionnaire — it’s a starting point that means your first session doesn’t spend forty minutes on biography.
The first session is 50 minutes. It covers your presenting concerns and relevant background, establishes the initial clinical frame, and begins the actual work. It is not a consultation or a trial. If it becomes clear that a different service would serve you better, that will be said directly.
Therapy sessions are weekly, 50 minutes. After an initial block of 6–8 sessions, we review together: what has moved, what the remaining work is, and whether the frequency and duration of the work still fits. Therapy at Psycosme is short-to-medium term in orientation — 4 to 12 months for most clients. Some work is shorter. Some is longer. The duration is determined by the work, not by convention.
Once you book and pay, Gino will contact you within 24 hours to schedule your first session. Sessions are weekly or fortnightly — the gap between sessions is part of the work, and the between-session reflection materials are designed to use it.
Each of the six sessions has a named focus area. They build cumulatively: the ground covered in session one shapes what session two can do, and so on. Attending sessions out of sequence or with significant gaps between them produces a different result.
Sessions are 60 minutes each, conducted online via video call. At the end of the programme, Gino prepares and sends the written pattern map — a document summarising the patterns that emerged, their origins, and how they are currently operating — within one week of the final session.
For the full session-by-session arc and more detail on what the programme involves, see the Formation Programme page.
Both offerings start with a direct booking. No pitch. No consultation. The work begins from the first session.
